Guests are also welcome to "walk-in" and register at the door the day of the event. (Some workshops may already be full)

Liz Bailey, RD, CDE, will share insights for developing quick and easy nutrition habits that will support you and your family's health and well-being. 2. Dementia/Alzheimer’s: Living with the Disease Please join Age with Grace Senior Care for this informative talk about the signs and stages of Dementia and Alzheimer’s. We will also discuss the challenges for the families and the creative approaches in the care and communication with your loved ones.

15. Pet First Aid & CPR Training With Veterinary Care Specialists & VCS Pets First! . . . Join Dr. Julie Hass as she guides you through complete CPR training & pet safety tips. Feel a real pulse while you practice on a mannequin, and get a certificate at the end.

16. Dementia/Alzheimer’s Support Group You’re invited to join our discussion group regarding Dementia and Alzheimer’s. Learn strategies for caring for your loved one. Bring your questions or concerns to discuss with our top caregivers at Age with Grace Senior Care.

17. Do you have photos scattered between your camera, phone & computer? Are you having a hard time remembering if you printed a photo or if you backed it up for safe keeping. Anna Broome of Creative Memories photos will show you how to make some quick digital projects with your photos. Join this workshop for a demonstration of Memory Manager, and learn some quick techniques for an organized system.

Some issues explored are how to listen to self, when and how to speak to others, gaining and giving away your power and knowing your family dynamics. This will be an interactive workshop-be prepared to engage with us and start getting what you want out of your life!

24. "How to Improve Your Hair, Skin, and Nails" Dr. Gregory Hicks is a local Chiropractor with specialized training in Clinical Nutrition Response Testing. Hicks Chiropractic will show you natural remedies that can give you the most dramatic results with your skin, hair, and nails.

What is the Huron Valley Education Foundation?

 

The Huron Valley Educational Foundation is a nonprofit community-based partnership of public education and private philanthropy. The mission of the foundation is to generate and distribute financial resources to facilitate educational enrichment and innovation for the students and teachers of Huron Valley Schools. Foundation funds, which are supported solely by charitable, tax deductible contributions, support activities that allow students and teachers to engage in creative and innovative educational programs funded by Huron Valley.

’08-’09 Grant
COLLEGE LIFE IS POSSIBLE (Teresa Morelli-Sobczak/Muir Middle)
Students will be going on a guided tour of Eastern Michigan University. They will experience a day in the life of a college student and will learn how their current choices today effect the decisions they have to make in their future. They will also see the special education support available at the collegiate level. In Honor of Women In Business, Highland Business Association Grant

’07-’08 Grant
VETERINARY SCIENCE EXPLORATION (Amanda Beckett/Lakeland High School)
This grant supports work that has begun in Huron Valley high schools promoting Science Career Integration into the Biology Curriculum. Veterinarian Dr. Sandy Smith has donated her time to guest speak/teach 3 classes of biology at LHS for a day. She would be exploring the world of microscope specimens and various common animal parasites with students. The HVEF grant would secure slides which would be directly used for the program.
