Ready for a great fall!As owner of Building Blocks Preschool, fall is a big deal for me. It's the start of a new school year with the promise of exciting projects and renewed and new relationships. Maybe it's because I am in education that I view fall as a new beginning verses the end of the year. Interestingly enough, the HWLBA works a bit like our education system; we have our annual meeting in the fall as well as membership renewals. As a board we also meet in late summer to start planning for the next year. Fall is about beginnings.
In preparation for the annual meeting, we look back to what has been accomplished. It's staggering that our organization can manage all the events that we do while including our members as well as the whole of our communities. This year, in addition to our monthly coffees and lunches, we hosted Money Camp, multiple ribbon cuttings celebrating new opportunities with our members, Highland Community Prayer Breakfast, Red Box, Laughs at the Legion, $3000 worth of scholarships, two mixers and Volunteer Vision. It's been a big year for us. However, we can't just stand on our laurels - we must keep working to be better and seeking growth. Looking back is important, but it's also important for us to look towards the future. Who do we want to be in 2018? What should we look like? Over the past two years, we have added about 35 new members. What would we look like if we added 50 more? What about 100? There are more than 1,000 businesses in Highland we don't have as members. White Lake is double that. What would we look like if we added 50 or 100? That's what we plan to talk about at our Annual Meeting. Is it a teaser? Maybe. Should you come? Absolutely. Call Amy today to RSVP. Then join us on Wednesday, September 27th at 11:30 am at the Highland Library.
Remember to "Think Big. Dream Big. Believe
Big. And the Results will be BIG".
Here’s to your growth and success!
